چکیده

This paper is intended to provide a detailed game-theoretical analysis of the buyer-vendor coordination problem embedded in the price-discount inventory model. Pure and mixed, cooperative and non-cooperative strategies are developed. Highlights of the paper include the full characterization of the Pareto optimal set, the determination of profit-sharing mechanisms for the cooperative case and the derivation of a set of parameterspecific non-cooperative mixed strategies. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the main features of the model.

Coordinating a Seller-Buyer Supply Chain with a Proper Allocation of Chain’s Surplus Profit Using a General Side-Payment Contract

In this paper, seller-buyer supply chain coordination with general side-payment contracts is introduced to gain the maximum possible chain profit. In our model, the logistics costs for both buyer and seller are considered and the final demand is also supposed to be a decreasing function of the retail price. Since parties aim to maximize their individual profits, the contractual parameters are s...

An Optimal Quantity Discount Pricing Policy for Deteriorating Items

We discuss a quantity discount problem between a seller (wholesaler) and a buyer (retailer). The seller purchases products from an upper-leveled supplier (manufacturer) and then sells them to the buyer who faces her/his customers’ demand. The seller attempts to increase her/his profit by controlling the buyer’s order quantity through a quantity discount strategy and the buyer tries to maximize ...

Optimal bunkering contract in a buyer–seller supply chain under price and consumption uncertainty

Bunker fuel constitutes about three quarters of the operational costs for liners. A strong effort is justified to define operational conditions and management strategies to minimize fuel-related costs, especially if the variability of fuel price is considered. Fuel sellers and liners use contracts to be guaranteed a refuelling quantity and control bunker price. We propose a game theory based ap...

Selling with Evidence

We consider a seller who can propose any selling mechanism to a buyer. The seller’s reservation value and the buyer’s valuation can depend both on the buyer’s privatelyknown taste and on product characteristics privately-known to the seller. Product information is voluntarily and costlessly certifiable by the seller. We characterize all feasible allocations under any certifiability structure an...

A multi-objective model for closed-loop supply chain optimization and efficient supplier selection in a competitive environment considering quantity discount policy

Supplier selection and allocation of optimal order quantity are two of the most important processes in closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) and reverse logistic (RL). So that providing high quality raw material is considered as a basic requirement for a manufacturer to produce popular products, as well as achieve more market shares. On the other hand, considering the existence of competitive environ...
